been playing cyberpunk again after gta5 and night city feels way denser but idk if its actually bigger. like in los santos i can drive for 5 min straight but in night city everything is stacked on top of eachother. anyone got actual numbers on map size? also does the density count for anything or is half of it just unenterable buildings lol
is night city actually bigger than los santos or does it just feel like it

bro night city is actually bigger than los santos, u had it backwards but ur instinct on the density is 100% right
real numbers: Night City is around 24 square kilometres, while the Los Santos city part is around 13.76 square kilometres. AltChar so the actual CITY of night city is almost double los santos. but heres the catch, GTA 5’s full map is around 81 square kilometers with the water taken out GameRant, cuz u got all the blaine county countryside, mountains, desert, sandy shores etc. thats why u can drive 5 min straight, ur driving thru empty farmland lol not city.
so basically:
city vs city = night city wins, denser AND bigger footprint
whole map = gta5 wins by a mile bc of all the outskirts
and the verticality thing u felt is real. Night City hinges on verticality in a way Los Santos simply doesn’t, huge buildings looming everywhere ScreenRant. los santos is built flat like a real city so it FEELS smaller even when ur covering more ground.
on ur last q about unenterable buildings, cyberpunk actually has more enterable interiors than gta5 (megabuildings, shops, apartments) but yeah still a good chunk is just facade. its not half tho, way better than gta on that.
tldr: night city = smaller but denser and taller. los santos = flatter but way more total land to drive across. both “feel big” for opposite reasons 🤝
