Why Does My i5 Gaming Laptop Randomly Restart and Lose Battery So Fast?
I have an Intel Core i5 gaming laptop, and lately it has started restarting randomly without showing any warning, error message, or blue screen.
Sometimes it happens while gaming, but it can also happen during normal use. The laptop suddenly shuts down as if the power was cut, then boots up again from the beginning. There is usually no freezing, lag, or obvious performance drop before it happens.
I am not sure whether the problem is related to overheating, the charger, battery, RAM, SSD, motherboard, or Windows.
The battery life is also very poor. After unplugging the charger, the battery usually lasts only around 30–40 minutes, even when I am not gaming. Lowering the screen brightness and enabling battery saver does not make much difference.
What is the best order to test this problem?
What is causing the problem, how can it be fixed, and what should I do?
