Assassin's Creed II
FollowAbout this game
Assassin's Creed II puts you in the boots of Ezio Auditore, a cocky young Florentine noble whose life falls apart when his father and brothers are hanged over a conspiracy he doesn't understand yet. What starts as a revenge story turns into a 20-year chase across Renaissance Italy, and the game grows with Ezio the whole way. You climb the Duomo in Florence, sprint across Venetian rooftops, chase targets through Forlì, and rebuild the family villa in Monteriggioni into an actual income machine that pays for better armor and blades. Leonardo da Vinci hands you dual hidden blades, a pistol, and eventually a flying machine. Combat finally lets you disarm, counter, and throw sand in someone's face, while the notoriety system means you can rip down wanted posters or just bribe a herald instead of fighting the whole city guard. Hunting the twelve assassination targets is the spine, but the Assassin Tombs and Codex pages are where the platforming and lore actually shine.
