About this game

Batman: Arkham City takes the fight out of the asylum and drops it into a walled-off chunk of Gotham that Hugo Strange turned into a prison with no guards inside โ€” just Two-Face, Penguin, Joker, and everyone else carving out turf. Bruce Wayne gets thrown in as a prisoner, which is the best opening the series ever pulled, and from the moment you get the suit you're grappling and diving between rooftops instead of walking corridors. The glide is the real upgrade: dive, pull up, hit a grapnel boost, and you never touch the ground. Freeflow combat gets counters against shields, knives, and armored brutes, plus gadgets you can fire mid-combo like the batclaw and freeze grenade. Predator rooms are bigger now, with reinforced gargoyles and thugs who learn your tricks. The Joker plot is the spine โ€” he's dying from Titan, and he's made sure Batman is too โ€” while Riddler turns 400 trophies into genuinely nasty environmental puzzles instead of collectibles. Catwoman gets her own playable chapters with a whip and a different rhythm entirely, and side missions like Deadshot, Zsasz, and Mr. Freeze's arc are better than most games' main stories. The ending still hits.
