Counter-Strike 2 is a competitive tactical shooter centered on short rounds, limited lives, precise weapons, and an economy that carries between rounds. Terrorists attempt to plant a bomb or eliminate the opposing team, while Counter-Terrorists defend sites and defuse planted explosives. Movement, recoil control, utility lineups, communication, and map knowledge create a high skill ceiling. Built on Source 2, the game introduced responsive smoke behavior, updated lighting, revised maps, and a subtick networking system while preserving the core structure of Counter-Strike.
