Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter where squads complete military objectives on hostile planets for Super Earth. Missions combine gunplay, powerful support call-ins, limited ammunition, environmental hazards, and enemies that can quickly overwhelm an uncoordinated team. Friendly fire is always active, so positioning and communication matter even when using heavy weapons or orbital strikes. A shared Galactic War changes as the community succeeds or fails across planets. New equipment, enemy threats, mission types, and balance updates regularly alter the available strategies.
