Heroes of the Storm is a team-based multiplayer online battle arena featuring characters and locations from Blizzard franchises. Two teams compete on maps with different objectives, such as controlling shrines, escorting payloads, or collecting resources that can damage the enemy base. Experience is shared across each team, reducing the focus on individual last hits and emphasizing coordinated rotations and objective timing. Heroes use talent choices instead of a traditional item shop, allowing abilities to change during a match. Team composition and map-specific strategy strongly influence results.
