Why does my controller stop working after the Fall Guys menu?
Controller input in Fall Guys is messy: duplicated presses, wrong prompts, or no response after the menu.
What is the safest way to isolate a Steam Input conflict from a driver or in-game mapping problem? Please account for Epic Online Services, controller detection, party invites, and fullscreen mode.

This usually means Steam Input and the game are both trying to control the same pad.
Try this order:
Close Fall Guys and unplug every extra controller or virtual device.
In Steam, open Fall Guys → Properties → Controller.
Set Steam Input to Disable Steam Input and launch the game.
If the controller is not detected at all, switch it to Enable Steam Input and test again.
Fully close DS4Windows, reWASD, JoyToKey, or any controller mapper. Do not run them together with Steam Input.
Open the Epic Games Launcher once, let Epic Online Services update, then restart Steam.
Delete or reset the controller bindings inside Fall Guys.
Test borderless windowed instead of exclusive fullscreen.
Connect the controller before launching the game and avoid reconnecting it while sitting in the menu.
Duplicated presses usually mean two input layers are active. Wrong button prompts are normally an Xbox/PlayStation translation issue. If it works in the menu but dies after joining a party, disable the Steam and Epic overlays temporarily and test without accepting an invite.
Also check Windows with joy.cpl. If inputs are duplicated there too, the problem is the driver or a virtual controller tool—not Fall Guys.
