At the end of Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, the player-character (a Bhaalspawn) gets a choice: ascend as the new Lord of Murder, or reject the divine essence and live out the rest of their life as a mortal.
However, Baldur's Gate 3 takes place ~120 years later and there's basically zero direct mention of the ToB protagonist. Indeed:
Bhaal is fully back as one of the Dead Three, with the whole Dark Urge origin being a fresh Bhaalspawn rather than a callback to the old one
Sarevok Anchev shows up in the Murder Tribunal but never actually clears up what happened to the original Bhaalspawn who beat him
Is there any canon reference (in-game dialogue, a book, a letter, dev commentary) that confirms whether the BG2 protagonist is still alive, or at least what canonically happened to them?
